Dear Winnipeg,

Love is not a lottery. We don’t win it. We create it. You see, how we feel is tied to how we think, what we experience, and what actions we choose to take. And so changing how we feel means changing the way we think and changing the way we behave. Loving ourselves and loving our Winnipeg is not a passive act. It takes commitment, creativity, action and some patience. We thought it was about time we worked harder at loving ourselves and where we live.

Our team has created 10 specific tips based on the study of human behaviour and the psychology of how to change how we feel. These tips will encourage us to make small changes in how we think and how we behave, to feel more positively about ourselves and our great city. We wanted to put our professional experience in the practice of psychology to everyone’s benefit and so we are sharing these tips with all of you. If practiced regularly, consistently – yes, even in winter –  these tips will help us WinnLove.

We’d like each and every one of you to participate. About once a month or so, we’ll release a new tip. On your favorite form of social media, share your experiences and photos that relate to each tip, then like, share, and support each other’s experiences. Try your best to focus on what we do have, instead of what we don’t have and focus on the positive.  By sharing our positive energy with each other, we will help this movement grow.

Remember, each of us is our city. And our city is each of us. Love yourself and end up loving your Winnipeg.

Sincerely,
The Clinic Psychology Manitoba Team
